# Page Lock

> Password-protect one or more Online Store pages — a paid plan feature.

A **Page lock** password-protects one or more Online Store pages (like an About page, an FAQ, or any custom page you've created), while the rest of your store stays fully open. This is a **paid plan** feature.

## When to use a Page lock

* You have a wholesale or trade price list page that should only be visible to buyers who have your access code, without setting up full customer accounts
* You publish an order form, line sheet, or terms page for business customers that shouldn't be public
* You want to share early-access content — a lookbook, an event page, a private catalog — with a select group before it goes public

## Locking a page before it's published

A page doesn't need to be published to your Online Store before you lock it. This is useful when you want to prepare a page and its lock together — for example, drafting a wholesale price list while it's still hidden, then making it visible once you're ready. The lock takes effect automatically the moment you publish the page from Shopify Admin — there's no extra step. Hidden pages show a **Hidden** badge in the page picker so you can tell them apart from live ones.

## Creating a Page lock

Follow the steps in [Creating Your First Lock](/docs/getting-started/creating-your-first-lock) and choose **Page(s)** as the lock scope, then click **Select pages** to choose which ones to lock — you can select up to 20 pages in a single lock.

## Editing which pages are locked

Open the lock from the Dashboard and click **Edit**. You can add or remove pages from the lock at any time — changes take effect on your storefront as soon as you save.

## Viewing or copying the password

Since a lock's password is a shareable access code (not a login), you can view and copy it again any time from the lock builder — open the lock and click the eye icon next to the password field.

## What customers see

A locked page shows Launch Day - Store locks' lock screen with a password field instead of the normal page content. A Page lock only gates the page itself — it doesn't cascade to any products or collections linked from that page, which stay accessible at their own URLs unless separately locked.
