A Collection lock password-protects every product in a collection — including products you add to that collection after the lock is created. This is a paid plan feature.
When to use a Collection lock
- You have a whole collection (like a new seasonal line, or a wholesale-only catalog) that shouldn’t be purchasable until a specific date
- You keep adding new products to a collection over time and don’t want to remember to lock each one individually
- You need to lock more products than a single Product lock allows (20 max)
Requirements
The collection you want to lock must already be published to your Online Store. Launch Day - Store locks checks this when you create the lock and will ask you to publish it first if it isn’t.
Creating a Collection lock
Follow the steps in Creating Your First Lock and choose Collection(s) as the lock scope, then click Select collection to choose which one to lock.
If a product in the collection is already locked by a different lock, that product stays under its original lock and isn’t affected by this one — Launch Day - Store locks will warn you if it detects an overlap when you pick the collection.
Staying in sync automatically
Once a Collection lock is active, Launch Day - Store locks keeps it in sync with your collection automatically:
- A product added to the collection later gets locked automatically, with no action needed from you
- A product removed from the collection gets unlocked automatically (unless it’s still covered by a different lock)
You don’t need to re-save the lock for these to take effect — Launch Day - Store locks picks up collection membership changes on its own.
What customers see
Every product in the locked collection shows Launch Day - Store locks’ lock screen instead of the normal product page — unless you’ve turned on Hide Buy/Shop Buttons instead.
